Intellectual Capabilities Diagnostic Assessment


Specific learning disabilities (SLD) are not intellectual impairments. Individuals with a specific learning disability have significant difficulty in one academic area while coping well, or even excelling, in other areas of academic, sporting or extracurricular achievement. The common indicator of an SLD is an unexpected underachievement in an area of academic skill which is not consistent with the student's other capabilities. An SLD is a problem that is severe, persistent and exists despite appropriate educational opportunities and is in contrast to the child’s other abilities and achievements.

Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD)


Individual psychological evidence-based practices to explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviours that are challenging the individual. Together the individual and the psychologist explore multiple factors that shape an individual’s life experience, behaviours, their values and their understanding of who they are and how they relate to others. Psychological therapy supports a process of change in identified challenging behaviours support improved and healthy daily functioning. 

We use different methods of evidenced based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, psychodynamic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing narrative therapy and Family systems therapy.
